These are the questions electrical contractors ask most often before working with us. If yours isn't here, call, text or email and ask it directly. You'll get a straight answer, even if the answer is that we're not the right fit.
Frequently asked questions
How much does marketing for an electrical contractor cost?
Our Trades.Agency plans run $1,999, $3,999 or $7,999 a month month-to-month, or $1,499, $2,999 or $5,999 a month billed annually, plus GST/HST for your province (GST and QST in Quebec). How ad spend is handled is written into your proposal.
Am I locked into a contract?
No. You pay month by month, and 30 days' notice ends the arrangement. Choosing annual billing is optional; it simply lowers the monthly rate.
How soon will the phone ring more?
Fixes to call handling and your Google profile can show up within weeks. Search rankings in competitive cities usually take three to six months, and commercial bid invitations often take longer.
We tried an agency before and got nothing. Why would this be different?
We can't promise it will be. What we can promise is clarity: you'll see leads, booked jobs, applicants and cost per result every month, from tracked sources. If something isn't working, the numbers will show it and we'll say so.
Who owns the website and accounts?
Ownership of the website, domain, Google profile and ad accounts is set out in writing in your proposal before you sign. Read that section closely with any agency, including us.
Are you electricians?
No. ElectricalTeam.ca is a marketing and business consulting service. We never do electrical work, give code advice or pull permits. Your electricians review any technical content we write.
Are you a staffing agency?
No. We don't place, employ or supply workers. We market your job openings so electricians and apprentices apply directly to you, and you make every hiring decision.
Do you work only with licensed contractors?
Yes, where a licence is required for the work being advertised. We'll ask for your contractor licence details before we run electrical ads, and we show them on your site so customers can check.
Which job types do you market?
EV charger installs, panel and service upgrades, residential service calls, and commercial or tenant-improvement work. We also run recruiting campaigns for electricians and apprentices.
What reporting will I get?
A monthly report in plain language: calls, texts and emails received, booked jobs by source, applicants and hires if recruiting is running, spend, and what we're changing next month.
Do you work outside big cities?
Yes. We work with electrical contractors across all provinces and territories, including small towns and northern communities, where the approach leans more on reputation and referrals than on paid search.
Can you help with French-language marketing in Quebec?
We can plan bilingual campaigns and work with French-language writers. Quebec has its own language rules for commercial communication, so check those with the province before publishing.
Do you share our leads with other electricians?
No. Your campaign's calls, texts and emails come to your business only.
Money and contracts
Price and commitment come first for most owners, so the answers are short. Plans start at $1,999 a month, or $1,499 a month on annual billing, plus GST or HST at your province's rate, and they run month-to-month with 30 days' notice. The pricing page has the full table and a simple break-even calculation you can run with your own average job value.
A tip that applies to any agency: before you sign, find three things in the proposal. Who owns the accounts, how ad spend is billed, and how to leave. If any of the three is vague, ask until it isn't.
Timelines and expectations
Most improvements come in a predictable order. Call handling and Google profile fixes come first and can show within weeks. Service pages and reviews build over the following months. Commercial relationships and recruiting pipelines take the longest, but tend to last.
What slows results more than anything else is the phone. If a third of calls go to voicemail during working hours, fix that before spending more on ads. The service-call marketing page explains the usual fixes.
Being an electrician versus marketing electricians
We are clear about this because it matters legally and practically. ElectricalTeam.ca markets licensed electrical contractors. We aren't one, we don't employ electricians, and we don't place them with other companies.
That has two consequences. First, every technical claim on your site comes from your electricians, and they review it. Second, questions about codes, permits or licensing go to your provincial regulator, which our regional pages link to.
Recruiting questions
Owners usually ask whether recruiting marketing is worth it for one or two hires. Often it is, because a good careers page and a well-written ad keep working for every future opening. The bigger gain comes when you expect several hires in a year, or want an apprentice pipeline.
The recruiting service page and the guide to electrician job ads explain what goes into a job ad that licensed electricians actually reply to.
Questions to ask any marketing company before you sign
Whether you hire us or someone else, these questions protect you. Ask them on the first call and expect clear answers.
- Who will do the work? A named senior person, or a junior team you'll never speak with?
- What exactly is included each month? Pages, campaigns, reports, calls.
- How is ad spend billed? Paid directly to the platform, or through the agency?
- Who owns the website, domain, Google profile and ad accounts?
- What do you measure? Clicks and impressions, or booked jobs and hires?
- How do I leave, and what do I keep?
- Have you worked with electrical contractors? If not, what's the plan to learn the trade's details?
On the last question, we'll be candid: our published case studies are results from our HVAC work. We explain why that method transfers on the results page, and we build every technical page with your own electricians.
Reporting, in practice
Each month you get one short report. It lists calls, texts and emails received by source, booked jobs your office tagged, review count and rating movement, ad spend, and, if recruiting is running, applicants, interviews and hires. It ends with what we're changing next month and why. If a number looks wrong, ask; the underlying data is yours to see.
